Came upon this view en route to the camping site late afternoon. Had less than 1 minute to capture image before clouds obscured it.
What looks like a strange pasture are ski slopes in the Summer. Austria seems to be a sporting play ground. The site of the Austrian Grand Prix auto race is in a beautiful valley. There is a somewhat right angle turn, 100 degrees, that has two curious numbers painted on the track — 7 and 33. They are compass points for gliders that may have to land away from the air field, which is actually nearby.
In 1970 Peggy’s Cove had a permanent population of 50. There was a home that had a family of 10; they were 20% of the Town’s population. Laundry was more than a once-a-week task.
The present population of the town is 30, and 36 in the summer season.
